Description
In this 3 day gathering — a ritual, a temporary community, and a participatory pageant making workshop– we will use landscape, movement, puppets, song, sound, silence, and fire to create and enact a ritual of beauty and hope in defiance of the bleakness of the current moment.
We will spend all of our time outside unless the weather is severe: camping in the field and forest, eating meals cooked on an open fire, strengthening our relationship to the land and sky.
The logistics and physical labour of maintaining our temporary community and of putting on a public event will be part of this apprenticeship. This includes everything from helping to cook meals, to peeling garlic, washing dishes,, chopping wood, cleaning outhouses, putting up parking signs, moving puppets around, and more.
