Morality Demonology
June 26, 2026 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Morality Demonology
Fridays, June-August 21 (no show July 3)
The Paper Maché Cathedral at
Bread & Puppet: 753 Heights Road, Glover, VT
https://breadandpuppet.org/farm#Fridays
Puppet show! Puppet show! Bread & Puppet will present an indoor performance each Friday this summer in the Paper Maché Cathedral. The show will premiere in June and continue to evolve over the course of the summer. This year’s Friday Night Show: Morality Demonology.
Puppeteers are in a state of high alert. The commanders-in-chief of reality are not only assassinating truth but have declared war on the innocent everything of the world. Morality demons claim divine origin, govern the population with unidentified power, and oppress shamelessly and unaccountably with history-honored illegality. Under and oversized puppets now battle the insufferable demons and the tricks of political mayhem. The world, unaware of its upside-down situation, must be confronted!
After the show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli, and Bread & Puppet’s “Cheap Art” – books, posters, postcards, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale.
Please note that dogs are not permitted in the Paper Maché Cathedral.
Tickets: $15, no one turned away for lack of funds. Admission by donation upon arrival for kids 12 and under.
Want to be in the show? Join is in the Cathedral each Friday at 4pm for our volunteer rehearsal.

As US Empire Declines, US Capitalism Does Too
Sunday, July 12
3:00 PM – Short performances, including "A Man Says Goodbye to His Mother"
4:00 PM – Richard Wolff (remote) in conversation with Quincy Saul
In 1945 an exceptional situation - US capitalism as the lone in-tact survivor of the Second World War - was internalized as if it reflected a unique national economy that gave the US an equally exceptional, global power. An American empire thus succeeded the British Empire which quickly faded away. American capitalism prospered by consolidating and spreading a global empire except where that was partially blocked by the USSR and the PRC. After 1989, when no longer blocked by Russia, US "global superpower" and "uni-polar" moment had arrived. After the 1970s China no longer blocked the US empire but thrived beneath its umbrella. Finally, since 2010, China's economic development undermines the US empire and challenges US capitalism. The US/Israel war on Iran now brings it all to a head.

B&P Circus & Pageant
Sundays, July 19-August 30

Bread & Puppet: 753 Heights Road, Glover, VT
https://breadandpuppet.org/farm#Circus
“Is it or is it not?
Am I asleep or am I awake?
Am I a cockroach or am I a me?
Possibilitarians! We must demonstrate humanity’s upside-down situation in the face of the government’s depraved falsehoods. Luxury silence and despair must be replaced by revolt orchestras that radically oppose the radically wrong system.
It is time to unforget the revolution-in-progress and aim for the evermore on the universe’s shore.”The one and only Bread & Puppet Circus is back to confront our upside-down situation! With stilt dancers, paper maché beasts of all sizes, and a riotous brass band, The Upside Down World Circus, is an urgent spectacle of protest and celebration. Following the circus, starting around 4:30pm, a massive pageant will commence on field.
After each show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli, and “Cheap Art” – books, posters, postcards, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale.
While dogs are discouraged, well behaved dogs on leash are allowed towards the back and at the top of the amphitheater. Please bring your own water as there is none on site.
