Bread and Puppet will be hosting The Living Theatre Friday August 21st at 7:30 pm

The Living Theatre will perform No Place To Hide in our Paper Mache’ Cathedral at 7:30.

At a time when surveillance is a household topic, The Living Theatre’s new production could not be more current. No Place to Hide asks about the how, why, and what of hiding, and takes the audience on a journey through the untold history of New York. Challenging political, philosophical, and moral spheres of concealment, the play questions the boundaries between the private and the public while blurring our sense of intimacy.

As part of the celebration of B & P’s 50th Anniversary year, the theater presents a revival performance of this historic 1971 Bread and Puppet show with members of the original cast from that time. Now, 42 years after the first performance, many of the original performers – Sue Bettman, Mark Dannenhauer, Marc Estrin,  and Avram Patt – take part in the effort. B & P Press Printshop Manager, Lila Winstead, with  community help, re-printed the many costumes and banners from the original masonite cuts.
