There’s just 10 more days left to see the “Ecstatic Decrepitude” exhibit at Artyard in Frenchtown, New Jersey!!

This installation is a massive, once-in-a-lifetime collection of masks, puppets, books, paper maché relief work, and paintings that convey Peter Schumann’s deep commitment to the creative and political work which unites artists and communities in celebration and protest. Ecstatic Decrepitude occupies two floors of Artyard’s gallery space: the downstairs featuring historic never-before displayed woodcuts, brand new giant books, and paintings in black and white; the upstairs overflowing with giant paper maché sculpture, sweeping multi-chrome paintings, masks and objects. A variety of Banners & Booklets by Bread & Puppet Press are for sale on site!

Learn from Bread & Puppet’s Master Printers, have fun, meet
new people, and take part in an immersive introduction to
poster & banner production!

Bread & Puppet Theater is now seeking volunteers for our Spring/Summer
production season. Ideally we are seeking folks who can commute to us here
in Glover VT one day a week, to assist in the creation of Bread & Puppet’s
signature hand-painted posters and banners. The primary tasks involve
painting posters and banners, cutting, trimming and sewing fabric, and
preparing materials for letterpress and relief cut printing. To volunteer or with questions,
write [email protected] You must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and wear masks while sharing indoor space.

Consider volunteering for Bread and Puppet’s 9 day run in New York City!

This opportunity is available to everyone.

This December 2015, Bread and Puppet theater will present two shows: “The Seditious Conspiracy Theater Presents: A Monument to Oscar Lopez Rivera, a Puerto Rican Political Prisoner” and “The Overtakelessness Circus”.

We will perform at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue, NY NY, 10003) from Saturday December 12th through Sunday December 20th. Rehearsals begin Thursday December 10th.

13th Annual Political Leaf Peeping Event Sunday September 28th, 2:oo pm

Come celebrate the change of color in the North East Kingdom with our 13th Annual Political Leaf Peeping event. Bread and Puppeteers of past and present will regale you with  Cantastoria, hand puppet adventures, fiddle tunes and Crankies. We will put bread in your belly, garlic on your tongue, fresh mint in your water. Then we will present The Public Accesses Center For The Obvious Presents: The Situation, in the Paper Mache Cathedral. A Museum tour will be given on at 1:oo pm. Be sure to dress warmly! The Museum and Cathedral are not heated!

At 5:00pm, we will screen “I Am In Here,” a film by Mark Utter and Emily Anderson. Mark Utter and Emily Anderson have been working together as a collaborative team for 8 years. Mark is the creative mind behind “I am in here.” a short film that gives an entertainingly illustrative glimpse of Mark’s experience living with a disability that affects his ability to communicate. Emily is his communication partner and, also, the film’s producer. The screening is followed by a Q and A that is facilitated by Mark using “Supported Typing.”
