We currently have open dates betwen Oberlin College in Ohio (March 12) and Columbia College in Chicago (March 17)
We are also free between Kenyon College in Gambier, OH (26 March) and the 31st.

B & P Awarded 2009 New England Art Award
The 2009 New England Art Awards declared on February 8, 2010 that Bread and Puppet Theater is the critic’s choice for Best Performance or Spectacle in New England in 2009. Decided by more than 1,880 people who voted, as tallied and certified by the New England Journal of Aesthetic Research.

Bread and Puppet Museum Hours
Bread and Puppet Museum, one of the largest collections of some of the biggest puppets in the world, continues to be open daily from 10 am - 6 pm until November 1st, and after that, by appointment. Free admission. Donations welcome.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MAJD
The Story of a Palestinian Youth
The University of Majd is an exhibit of 7 large latex paintings on lightweight fabric and 80 small flower paintings that are meant to surround or separate the panels.
I learned about Majd’s fate from his family whom I met on a recent visit (September 2007) to Ramallah. The text on the panels is from emails which Ed Mast of Seattle, an old friend of Majd’s family, sent home as the case unfolded. I used shroud fabric for the large paintings and discarded window shades and other scrap materials for the flowers to pay my respects to the gigantic garbage problem of Palestine.
Five panels measure approximately 12’ x 7’; one 7’ x 4’; the title panel 10’ x 5.5’.
